The sixth season of The Walking Dead, an American horror–drama television series on AMC, premiered on October 11, 2015. The season will consist of 16 episodes, split into two eight-episode parts; the second of which will premiere on February 14, 2016. Developed for television by Frank Darabont, the series is based on the eponymous series of comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The executive producers are Kirkman, David Alpert, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Tom Luse, and Gale Ae Hurd, with Gimple as showruer for the third consecutive season. This season introduces notable comic characters such as Heath, Denise Cloyd, Scott, The Wolves (a heavily modified version of The Scavengers) and Paul Monroe.

In a town meeting, Rick proposes that they formulate a plan to herd the walkers away before they break free and attack the town. Although it is opposed by Carter, a skeptic Alexandrian, the plan is approved by Deaa. During construction of a wall needed to divert the walkers, several undead attack Carter’s group, who is left by Rick to fend for themselves in order to lea how to fight; when they are paralyzed in fear, Rick’s group rescues them.

This motivates Carter to tell other Alexandrians his desire to overthrow Rick. When Eugene is caught overhearing, Carter almost shoots him before Rick arrives and in tu threatens him; he decides to spare him. Rick invites Morgan to stay in his house. After the course is completed, Rick rallies the volunteers to the quarry for a dry run, but a truck blocking the exit of the quarry topples, which frees the herd, and forces Rick’s group to enact the plan earlier than expected.
